David has been a full-time professional photographer since 1992. He started his career, at the age of 17, as a trainee photographer and studio manager with one of Edinburgh's leading studios while studying photography at college part-time. The mix of an on-the-job and academic approach to learning the art of photography has given David a fresh and individual style. As well as holding other respected photography qualifications, David is a fully qualified member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and the Master Photographers Association, the United Kingdom's only fully qualified organisation for practising full time professional photographers. Scottish Master Photographer of the Year 2008 Scottish Wedding Photographer of the Year 2008 Scottish Classical Wedding Photographer of the Year 2008 David's success has been built on the fact that he understands that every wedding is individual, a once in a lifetime event. He uses his experience and passion for photography to really capture the mood of your big day. By choosing David Bryce Photography to photograph your wedding day you can be sure that you, your bridal party, family and guests will relax and enjoy the experience. It’s often said of David that not only is he good at delivering results but that it’s obvious he loves what he does and that can’t help but rub off. The memory of how your photos were created will certainly be a positive one and we believe that’s as important as the images themselves. David is also available to photograph events anywhere in the UK as well as families, babies, children and pets, model's portfolios, passport and visa photography for any country, actor's head shots and photography for all your business needs. For those about to be wed!!! Congratulations, you're getting married! It's an exciting time full of activity and planning, but it's also a time of seemingly endless decision-making. For some couples the task of finding a suitable wedding photographer can prove difficult. When you are looking around at a variety of photographers for this most special day, please remember that David Bryce Photography guarantees you the most personal, professional and flexible service at a price to suit your budget. We only ever cover one wedding per day and we do not employ, at any time, a host of part-time or amateur photographers. This is the policy of some studios which can result in some very poor pictures and some extremely unhappy brides. Please beware of this. If you're feeling overwhelmed and confused about the different types of wedding photography, here are a few useful tips when it comes to choosing the right package for you. With all our packages, photographs taken are supplied as proof sheets in a preview album and as a DVD slideshow for viewing on your computer and TV, these are yours to keep. Your favourite photographs are then printed professionally as individual prints or as multiple images of various sizes on each page for your designer 'Wedding Storybook'. You may combine any mixture of colour, black & white and sepia prints in your finished album. *NEW* your images will also be available to view and order on-line through the 'Gallery' Traditional - If you like the look of posed photos in your parent's album, then you should ask for "traditional" photographs. Usually we will shoot the pre-ceremony pictures after you and your bridesmaids are dressed, taking care that everything looks perfect. You'll get shots of you and your parents along with some traditional poses of putting on your garter, placing the flowers on dad's lapel, formal shots of your gown, etc. After the ceremony the wedding party will gather for "altar returns" where we will have you re-enact the key moments of your ceremony and then take formal shots of the wedding party. At the reception, we will often quickly shoot the cake cutting etc. Reportage - Strictly speaking this style is totally hands off photography! It's the complete opposite of traditional wedding photography with the purpose of capturing events as they happen. Coverage usually begins when you're getting made-up or dressing and photos capture the exciting atmosphere from beginning to end. Reportage does not mean "black & white only", the best of this style uses colour as well, nor does it mean we will follow a shot list. It's a documentary style and extremely easy on the nerves for you and your guests. We try to work very quickly without getting in your way. The Flexible Approach - This simply combines the best of reportage while accommodating your desire for formal and group photos. This normally requires two photographers, David and his assistant. We aim for story-telling albums and portfolios showing all of the important events of the day as well as genuinely flattering photographs of key people and groups. Expect lots of close-ups, details, emotion and action as well as relaxed poses of both groups and individuals. Nothing will look forced and everyone will look engaged in the moment. We are comfortable working in natural light and outdoors, and known for directing the shots only when necessary. We are always warm and friendly, and we will be interacting with your guests to get the shots you want. Most couples find this package delivers the best of both worlds while being extremely easy to work with throughout the entire process.
